Problem: MapCreate and CardPrep hang upon execution after the installation of service pack 2 (SP2). SP2 introduces conflicts with the current MMC\SD card drivers.
Work-Around: To run MapCreate without lock up, follow these directions:
- Make sure the card reader is installed and that a card is fully in the drive.
- Make sure there is no MapCreate, CardPrep, SonarViewer, or MMC Browser process running (locked up or not). To check the TaskManager for these processes, do the following:
- Right click on the task bar and click on Task Manager.
- Click the ‘processes’ tab and look for MapCreate.exe, CardPrep.exe, SonarViewer, or MMCBrowser.
- If any of the programs in the previous step were present, reboot.
MapCreate should now load properly.
